INTERVIEW
Mr.Waseda
What is the site like from the viewpoint of Mr. Waseda, the site manager?
Everyone is serious. And they move well? I think the way they move is totally different from other companies!
Why do you move so quickly?
I am always conscious of doing things better and faster than other companies, without loss and without waste.
Of course, the company policy is that if we finish early, we can go home early, so I also want to let our members go home as early as possible so they can get some rest. In fact, when I finish early, I leave the office even before the regular time.
Can inexperienced workers keep up?
Of course, it will be difficult at first because you will not understand even a single tool. However, half of our employees are inexperienced, and we currently have a Cambodian worker whose Japanese was vague at first, so he had some trouble, but now he is working as an immediate asset. I think we have a really strong unity in terms of education.
Mr.Gssyo
How many years have you been with the company, Mr. Gassyo?
I have been with the company since I graduated from high school, so it has been 20 years.
What is the reason why you have been with the company for so many years?
I love the president most of all. Of course I love my job, but it was the president who helped me and gave me opportunities.
He is also the one who helped me and gave me a chance. I don’t know about other companies, but our president really cares about the work site and often shows up at the work site to support us.
I wonder if there is a president who is so supportive. I wonder if there is a president who is so supportive. (Laughs).
Can you tell us an episode that shows how much you care about the work site?
In the middle of summer, when it was really hot and other companies were getting sick due to heat stroke, the president told us to work early in the morning and finish by noon.
Working in the afternoon in midsummer is really hard, efficiency goes down, and motivation goes down, but
But by changing to work early in the morning and finishing by noon, I was able to work more efficiently, and since I could go home after noon, I was able to work with a high level of motivation.
I felt that a president who can take such a drastic measure is really wonderful.
